White House President Donald Trump was "happy and supportive" of House Republicans who stormed into a closed-door impeachment hearing, White House Press Secretary and Communications Director Stephanie Grisham said Thursday.
"Democrats have been doing everything behind closed doors and in secret," Grisham told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "It is about time somebody made a bold stand, I guess a sit-in, which is what they did and it was great and the point was well-taken."
She also rejected a question asking if Trump would regret referring to Republican "never-Trumpers" as "human scum."
"People who are against him, working against him since the day they took office are just that," Grisham said. "It is horrible that people are working against a president who is delivering results for this country and has been since day one...they deserve strong language like that."
She also responded to a New York Times report that Trump's war on the "Deep State" is deeply connected with the impeachment inquiry against him.
The president has said there are some very, very good people in the Intel community but also he made no secret again since the day he took office this has been a witch hunt against him," she said.
