Republican lawmakers are bracing for a new round of backlashes in town hall meetings with constituents, CNN reports.

As Congress makes its way through a two-week recess, groups like Indivisible and MoveOn.org are urging liberals to make their voices heard at the planned meetings, according to CNN.

And healthcare is expected to be the primary issue.

Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C.,was confronted by people upset with Congress over the attempts to repeal Obamacare, WRDW-TV reported.

At one point, the station reported, the same words Wilson used against former President Barack Obama during a State of the Union address were chanted as he talked about healthcare.

"You lie, you lie," the crowd said repeatedly as Wilson tried to talk.

And over the weekend, Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif., had to plead with a rowdy crowd for calm, CNN noted.

"Ladies and gentleman, this is supposed to be a civil discussion," he said. "Be civil, be polite, and allow people to have a civil exchange of ideas."

And Republicans in competitive congressional districts are among those most closely-watched.

According to CNN, the failure by Republicans to repeal Obamacare energized Democrats. And the attempt to revive a GOP healthcare reform bill has pumped up Democratic activists even more.
