Chaffetz Rips Former GOP Colleagues on Repeal Delays
Fox News' "The Story With Martha MacCallum"

Former lawmaker and new Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz on Wednesday chided fellow Republicans for stumbling on healthcare reform – after complaining for seven years about Obamacare.

In remarks on "The Story With Martha MacCallum," the ex-Utah congressman said Republicans had a "deal with America."

He described the deal as one that promised voters "if you give us the House of Representatives, we can play defense. If you give us the Senate, we can play a little bit of offense. You give us the House, Senate and the presidency, we can actually get things done."

"So, here we are, seven months into it, they haven't passed the bill yet," he said.

Worse, he added, "We have been talking about it for seven years, here we are turning the corner into July, and you can still can't point to a single thing that will unite us."

"I was first elected when [Barack] Obama became the president, and after that healthcare bill was passed, some 50 plus times we voted to repeal it," he added. "That was almost pretend, now it is for real.

". . . There is a great deal of frustration in both the House and the Senate that there is not yet a bill," he said. "Because it really feels like they haven't even gotten together and figured out a plan yet . . ."
