The Biden administration's plan to vaccinate Guantanamo Bay prisoners "is ridiculous and insulting," according to Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Fla., on Newsmax TV.
"Here's why this is ridiculous and insulting on so many levels: That someone in the Biden administration thought this was a good idea is just jaw dropping to me," Waltz told Monday's "Stinchfield."
Waltz noted 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other 39 Gitmo detainees have taken countless lives of Americans and cost massive time and resources to get them locked up.
"The ones that remain are the most dangerous, refuse to repent, intelligence says should never see the light of day," Waltz added to host Grant Stinchfield. "No. 1 Guantanamo absolutely should not be closed, but No. 2 the last thing we should be doing is vaccinating them before our seniors."
Waltz noted, Gitmo is designed to be the most remote and secure prison in the world.
"That doesn't make sense to me," he said. "If I couldn't think of anywhere in the world that is more quarantined and more isolated then it wouldn't be Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
"They should be the bottom of the barrel. They should be getting the last 40 vaccines, not the first 40."
