It did not take long for Georgia congressional candidate Jon Ossoff to respond to a tweet President Donald Trump aimed at him Monday morning, where he called the Democratic candidate a "super liberal" who wanted to "protect criminals, allow illegal immigration and raise taxes!"
Ben Jacobs, political reporter for The Guardian, fired back on Twitter with a message quoting Ossoff, where he said the president was "misinformed" and stressed his campaign was about bringing "fresh leadership, accountability, and bipartisan problem solving to Washington," The Hill reported Monday.
Ossoff is running against four Republicans in Tuesday's special election to fill the seat left vacant by former Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., who joined Trump's Cabinet as secretary of Health and Human Services. Ossoff will have to face one of the GOP contenders in another election if he fails to garner at least 50 percent of the vote in the special election.
The 30-year-old Democrat is a documentary filmmaker and former Capitol Hill staffer who has never held elected office.
