Sen. Mike Enzi of Wyoming has received strong support from major Republican donors and political action committees ahead of his primary challenge from Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Among the largest donations in the second quarter was $7,500 from Koch Industries PAC, the committee affiliated with the company owned by billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch,
reports Politico.
Other major PACs donors, according to second-quarter campaign finance reports
filed with the Federal Election Commission, include Ameriprise, Walmart, Time Warner Cable, Boeing, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, AT&T, Home Depot, UPS, American Airlines, Eli Lilly, and Fund for a Conservative America.
The three-term incumbent also received donations from PACs associated with GOP leaders such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, and Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
Enzi brought in $171,290 in the period between April and June and reportedly has about $488,000 on hand.
A poll released last week showed Enzi leading Cheney by more than 30 points.
