Donald Trump denied his town hall appearance Thursday in New Hampshire was "practice" for the Sunday debate against Hillary Clinton, taking a shot at the Democratic nominee for "resting" instead of getting ready for the showdown.

New England Cable News reported the Sandown, N.H., event was the same general format as the upcoming second presidential debate; there was a two-minute clock timing each of his answers.

Standing off to the side was New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who is coaching the GOP nominee, NECN.com reported.

"This isn't practice," he told the crowd. "This has nothing to do with Sunday."

"We're just here because we just wanted to be here," he added. "And you know Hillary frankly — they talk about debate prep — that's not debate prep. She is resting.

"And I want to be with the American people, I want to be with the people from New Hampshire, and she wants to rest."

Trump has previously joked about Clinton's stamina, stating that she's "sleeping" or "resting" while he's out on the campaign trail, The Hill notes.
