President Donald Trump lobbed a fiery Twitter bomb at the news media Sunday, asserting its coverage discounts the strength of his political base – and declaring “nobody is going to beat us.”

The president also scoffed at the “negative” coverage of “fake polls” by “fake news” outlets.

The blast comes in the wake of Trump signing a sweeping tax code overhaul plan — his administration’s first legislative victory. Some polls have shown the plan so far isn’t so popular with the public.

For example, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll last week found 63 percent of Americans think the bill would benefit the wealthy and corporations, while a CNN poll showed 55 percent were opposed to the plan.

Trump tweeted, however, “we are doing well.”
