Trump Slams 'Dried-Up Prune' Springsteen, Calls for MAGA Boycott

By    |   Thursday, 02 April 2026 11:14 AM EDT

President Donald Trump on Thursday fired back at Bruce Springsteen and called on MAGA supporters to boycott the rock star after he opened his "Land of Hope and Dreams" tour in Minneapolis with slams on the president.

Springsteen called him a "snowflake" who "can't handle the truth."

"Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried-up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, and 86% of the Counties across America," Trump added.

"Under Sleepy Joe and the Dems, our Country was DEAD, and now we have the “hottest” Country, by far, anywhere in the World," Trump continued. "MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK.

"SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. AMERICA IS BACK!!!"

Springsteen on Wednesday told his crowd in Minneapolis that he was asking "all of you to join with us in choosing hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, resistance over complacency, unity over division and peace over war.”

The show then opened with the band's cover of the 1970 protest anthem "War" by Edwin Starr, followed by Springsteen's "Born in the USA."

Before the tour kicked off, Springsteen told The Minnesota Star Tribune that his shows are "going to be political and very topical about what's going on in the country."

"This White House is destroying the American idea and our reputation around the world," he added. "To many, we are no longer looked upon as an often imperfect but strong defender of democracy standing for the global good.

"We are no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave."

"We are now, to many, America the reckless, unpredictable, predatory rogue nation," said Springsteen. "That is this administration's and this president's legacy."

He has not yet commented on Trump's call for a MAGA boycott against the tour, but he told the Star Tribune that he is not worried about losing fans over Trump.

"I've always had a feeling about the position we play culturally, and I'm still deeply committed to that idea of the band," he said.

Springsteen's next stop on the tour will be on Friday in Portland, Oregon, and in Los Angeles on April 6 and 7.
