CNN anchor Don Lemon responded to President Donald Trump's call for ESPN to apologize to him after reporter Jemele Hill called the president a "white supremacist."
"I think when the president worked for NBC at 'The Apprentice,' and he said that Barack Obama was not born here and he called Barack Obama racist, when he apologizes for that, then maybe ESPN should apologize," Lemon told TMZ Sports.
The president on Friday called for that apology after White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Hill's comment was a "fireable offense."
As Lemon commented, during President Barack Obama's administration, Trump falsely claimed that Obama was not born in the U.S. and because of that, was not eligible to be president, according to HuffPost.
On Thursday, ESPN said it accepted Hill's apology for her Trump comments.
