David Bossie, former deputy campaign manager for Donald Trump, says Justice Department official Bruce Ohr’s testimony is key to finding out what’s really behind the ongoing Russia investigation.
Bossie’s remarks came in a Tuesday interview on TV’s "Fox & Friends."
Trump has referred to former British spy Christopher Steele’s "many meetings" with Ohr. He has said that Ohr’s wife, Nellie, worked for Fusion GPS, the research firm that hired Steele to compile a controversial dossier alleging the Trump campaign conspired with Russia during the 2016 election.
"Bruce Ohr is instrumental and wife Nelly Ohr are instrumental in the investigation and what we need to find out whether through closed-door testimony next week through Congress or in an open hearing later, the American people deserve to know what Bruce Ohr was doing."
He questioned whether anyone from the Democratic National Committee, the Hillary Clinton campaign or the Obama administration recommended Ohr’s wife go to work for Fusion.
"Why didn't Bruce Ohr disclose his wife's work on his financial disclosure form?" he said. "Why didn't he say she worked at Fusion? Why didn’t he talk about her income?
"We know that he was instrumental in helping her so why was he so vague on his financial disclosure?
