Report: Dems Overperformed in Special Elections by 8 Percent

Democrats did better than expected in the nine House special elections there have been this election cycle, according to the nonpartisan Cook Political Report.

Cook's House elections analyst Dave Wasserman tweeted Thursday, saying Democrats tracked in the nine special elections exceeded expectations by an average of 8 percent, adding the party would pick up 81 seats if they perform this well in every House district.
