Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., joined the growing list of Democrats boycotting Donald Trump's presidential inauguration.
"I will not go to the inauguration on Friday," he said on CNN's "New Day" program.
Nadler cited Trump's "inflammatory comments, his racist campaign, his conflicts (and his) refusal to disclose his taxes."
The Wall Street Journal reports at least 20 Democratic members of the House have announced they will not attend Trump's inauguration. Some blame Trump's lewd comments about women in the past, remarks about illegal immigrants and/or the Russian interference with the presidential election for their anticipated absence.
The boycott began to grow after Trump went on Twitter lashing out against civil rights leader U.S. Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., for saying Trump was not a "legitimate president."
"For me, the personal decision not to attend (the) inauguration is quite simple: Do I stand with Donald Trump, or do I stand with John Lewis? I am standing with John Lewis," Rep. Ted W. Lieu , D-Calif., said in a statement.
The newspaper noted presidential inaugurations are usually attended by lawmakers from both parties. A bipartisan committee is responsible for the swearing-in ceremony and a luncheon, according to the Journal.
Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., was one of the first to announce he would not attend. Last month, he cited Trump's comments about women, immigrants and people of color as his reasons.
