Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., "should resign," over allegations of sexual misconduct according to CNN commentator and former Democratic state representative Bakari Sellers.

"The Democratic Party has to clean up their own house. The Republican Party has to clean up their own house," Sellers, an attorney and former member of the South Carolina state legislature, said in an interview on CNN Friday morning, according to The Hill.

"And what I mean by that is it's fair for me to say, as I do believe, that Al Franken should resign. I'm a Democrat saying Al Franken should resign."

On Thursday, Los Angeles-based radio news anchor Leeann Tweeden accused Franken of groping her while she slept during a USO tour in 2006. Sellers compared the allegation against Franken to those against Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore, who's been accused of sexual misconduct, including assault, by multiple women, and to President Donald Trump, who also has been accused of sexual harassment.

"I don't believe Al Franken belongs in the United States Senate," he said. "I don't believe Roy Moore should be in the United States Senate. And I don't believe Donald Trump belongs as president of the United States based on these charges."
