Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., said he would continue to protect gun rights after the mass shooting Sunday in his state.
"Let me be clear. I'm not interested in watering down the Second Amendment," Heller said Thursday on Fox News' "America's Newsroom."
The senator said he was concerned about how a "madman" could shoot into a crowd of concertgoers.
"You show me the law that would stop that, not only will I support it, I will be an advocate for that law," Heller said.
Heller praised survivors of the attack, and said he shared their stories with President Donald Trump.
Democrats are planning to take on Heller over gun control in the mid-term elections, The Hill reported Tuesday.
