Bossie: Trump Already 'Sick and Tired' of DC's Usual Politics

By    |   Monday, 06 March 2017 03:00 PM EST

Donald Trump has an incredibly stressful job, but he has been on it for just 40 days and he is "sick and tired of the politics as usual of this town already," said David Bossie, former deputy director of the president's transition team.

"He is doing the job for the American people every single day that he wakes up," Bossie said Monday on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" program. "That's what this is about. This is about the president saying 'I'm going to come to Washington and get tax reform. I'm going to repeal and replace Obamacare and I'm going to fix the immigration policies and I'm going to change America for the better,' and now all of a sudden he is faced with all these political footballs."

In addition to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his decision to recuse himself from any Russia probes, and Trump's Saturday tweets accusing former President Barack Obama of ordering wiretapping at Trump Tower, there was another report Monday that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer will make it his mission to block financing for the Mexico border wall.

"Chuck Schumer is the leader of the continuous campaign [against Trump]," said Bossie. "There is a never-ending campaign. They cannot come to grips with the fact that they lost in November, and that Hillary Clinton was a terrible candidate they foisted on the American people."

Trump will focus on what's best for his agenda and the White House, said Bossie, and "Chuck Schumer is going to be seen as a very, very small man here very shortly."

Bossie also shot back at reports concerning Trump's inner circle, telling the program that the president has "unbelievably smart, unbelievably dedicated people around him, including Reince Priebus, Jared Kushner, Steve Bannon, and Kellyanne Conway.

"I think they are doing a great job with what they have," he said. "They have an opposition party that will stop at nothing. They have a left that will put people in the streets and riot wherever they can to try to get the president off message. And that's what this is about."
