President Donald Trump deserves more credit for the country's economic growth than he gets from the mainstream media, his former campaign deputy said Wednesday.
"The Democrats have no economic plan," David Bossie, the former Trump campaign deputy, now president of Citizens United, said on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" Wednesday morning.
"They've not had an economic plan for the American people or for the American worker for years. It's one of the reasons Donald Trump won last year, right? He talked to the rust belt workers, talked to the blue-collar men and women across America, and he understood what they wanted. And that's what he's been delivering, whether it's through deregulation, or any other shear force of his pen, he has been getting this economy going 3.3 percent growth, we're going to be up towards 4 [percent]. With this tax plan, I think it's off to the races."
Bossie, who appeared with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, claimed that if Trump's predecessor, former President Barack Obama, had experienced the same level of economic growth during his terms, then he would have won "the Nobel prize for economics," just as he won the Nobel Peace Prize.

"This president has carried this economy on his back," he said. "If Barack Obama had 4 percent growth or 3 percent growth, they would have given him the Nobel Prize for economics.
"This president deserves that type of credit. The mainstream media, they make up lies every single day to attack them. The liberals on Capitol Hill and across the country have to fan their leftist base, that's all they have at this point, and they have to do it through fear mongering, and you can see it through the Senate conversation yesterday."
