Ryan: 'I've Got Thick Skin,' Trump Audio 'Ancient History'
Fox News' "The First 100 Days"

House Speaker Paul Ryan said Tuesday he has "really thick skin" and he is not worried about a story published by Breitbart News with audio of him saying in October he would not defend then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

"This is ancient history," Ryan told Fox News' "The First 100 Days."

The audio of Ryan talking to fellow congressional Republicans came in the wake of the release of an old "Access Hollywood" recording of Trump making lewd comments about women.

Ryan told Fox News host Martha McCallum it is "no secret" he and Trump had their ups and downs during the campaign, but added they have merged forces after Trump's victory in the general election and are now "working hand and glove together."

Asked by McCallum whether he believes the story was released now to hurt him during the heated intra-party battle over repealing and replacing Obamacare, Ryan said, "It's not part of my day job to worry about things like that, so, I don't worry about it."
