Democratic Sen. Cory Booker again went on the attack against Brett Kavanaugh, asserting that the Supreme Court nominee "will not be an independent check" on President Donald Trump, NJ.com reports.
Booker, D-N.J., made the comments after meeting with Kavanaugh ahead of confirmation hearings next month.
Booker said Kavanaugh "has already reached the legal conclusion that a sitting president should not be investigated or indicted while in office," NJ.com reports.
"It's clearer than ever that Judge Kavanaugh will not be an independent check on this president," Booker said, NJ.com reports.
Booker's latest accusation comes a month after he said Trump had "picked the one justice … the one judge that he can be sure will provide him immunity should any of the issues arising from the Mueller investigation reach the Supreme Court."
