Only 44 percent of Americans surveyed approve of President Donald Trump's performance as he nears his 100-day mark on Saturday, according to the results of a new CNN-ORC International poll released Wednesday.
But 54 percent of the 1,009 adults surveyed disapproved of the Republican president's performance so far on the job.
Trump's negative score clipped President Bill Clinton's at his 100-day mark by 11 points, the survey reports.

- Approve: 43 percent.
In other issues, the survey asked whether Trump:
Has the right priorities as president?
- No: 55 percent.

Is working hard to be an effective president?
- No: 51 percent.
- Yes: 48 percent.
Is doing a good job of assembling a team of White House advisers?
- No: 56 percent.
- Yes: 42 percent.
Is respected by world leaders?
- No: 61 percent.
- Yes: 36 percent.
Has used the military responsibly?
- Yes: 52 percent.
- No: 46 percent.
The CNN-ORC International poll was conducted between Saturday and Tuesday and has a margin of error of 3 percent.
