There's nothing Sen. Chuck Schumer would like more than to block President Donald Trump's signature initiative — building the wall.

With no leverage with Democrats to get the necessary eight swing votes needed to reach 60, Schumer's plan is to block any bill that includes the funding to pay for the wall, gambling that Republicans won't invoke the nuclear option to pay for the wall, Axios reported.

The administration's plan, however, is to attach funding to a bill funding the military, Axios reported.

Schumer makes it about the wall; the administration makes it about the military, that Schumer and the Democrats are blocking funding for our troops, Axios reported.

"We have enough money to get a decent amount of the wall done in the first year," a source told Axios. "It's not like work would come to a complete halt."
