Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. pushed back at President Donald Trump’s claims of having the right to pardon himself and that the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller is “totally unconstitutional.”
Schumer’s remarks came in two Monday morning tweets.
Referring to a Trump tweet about having the right to pardon himself and calling Mueller’s investigation a "witch hunt," Schumer wrote:
"Special Counsel Mueller's investigation has either indicted or secured guilty pleas from 19 people and three companies. Five of these people, including three Trump aides, have already pleaded guilty."
