Fox News anchor Chris Wallace called Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., "unplugged" Friday, saying the Republican "is not going to play any political games" following his cancer diagnosis.

"Let me just say one thing about John McCain: Man, for a guy that people were writing off after that terrible diagnosis of brain cancer, he certainly has come back and made a splash," Wallace told fellow anchor Shannon Bream on "America's Newsroom."

McCain is "going to do what he wants to do," he added.

"I think that we are going to see John McCain unplugged in his time here in the Senate now, he is not going to play any political games, he is going to do what he wants to do, what he thinks is best for the country."

Wallace also addressed new White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci's profanity-laden rant against many of President Donald Trump's closest advisers.

"I am no choir boy. But I have never heard anybody talk in private say some of the things that Scaramucci said in public about Reince Priebus and Steve Bannon," he said.

"There is always a power struggle inside of a White House," Wallace continued. "You have smart people with strong convictions. But to have it play out like this, where Scaramucci was basically declaring war on Bannon and Priebus, they have to all be pulling together, and that is not true."
