Pennsylvania Republican Charlie Dent on Thursday said the new healthcare legislation has too much of a focus on "arbitrary timelines and deadlines" rather than impact.
A guest on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program, Congressman Dent was about the parallels of the House approving the bill early Thursday morning to what the Democrats did in 2009.
"History has a funny way of repeating itself," Dent said. "I think there has been too much of a focus here on arbitrary time lines and deadlines and base lines. This issue to me is about the people who are going to be impacted by the decisions we make."
Dent was also critical of the absence of input from the healthcare community.
"I think one failure so far there has not been enough engagement with hospitals, providers, and patient advocates," Dent said.
