Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore's campaign has blocked Democratic opponent Doug Jones on Twitter.
The largely symbolic move came last Friday, according to The Gadsden Times.
"Roy Moore is hiding from the issues, hiding from the voters, hiding from the media and now apparently hiding from us on social media," Jones campaign spokesman Sebastian Kitchen said in a statement to Alabama Media Group and posted in the Gadsden news outlet.
According to news outlet, Jones tweeted seven times Friday directly and indirectly about Moore, including twice using the Moore campaign Twitter handle @MooreSenate. The Jones team also twice tweeted links to an AL.com column that had the headline "Where have you gone, Roy Moore?"
Jones also tweeted another AL.com story about Republicans who have shifted their support to Jones, the outlet reported.
"We can't believe that Doug Jones is still whining about being blocked on Twitter," a spokesperson for Moore's campaign told Talking Points Memo. "Wait until we block him from the United States Senate."
Moore has been accused by several women of sexual misconduct, including pursuing sexual relationships with teenagers when he was an assistant district attorney.
Moore has denied all wrongdoing.
The pair will compete in a special election to fill Attorney General Jeff Sessions' Senate seat Dec. 12.
