One of the last things you would expect to see this season is Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp attending a White House Christmas party Friday night and posting a photo on Twitter.

Gov. Kemp, who has been White House enemy No. 1 amid Georgia election fraud challenges, tweeted:

"Lucy and I had a great time at the @WhiteHouse Christmas Party today. Merry Christmas, everyone!"

Trump campaign legal counsel Jenna Ellis responded with a one-word tweet of shock:

"Seriously?"

Notably, Lucy Kemp is the daughter of Gov. Kemp and was the girlfriend of Harrison Deal, 20, the campaign staffer of Sen. Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., who was tragically killed in a car accident early this month.

Kemp's attendance at a White House party came just hours after President Donald Trump continued his relentless attack on the Republican governor for his refusal to assist in rooting out election fraud in the key battleground state.

Trump tweeted earlier Friday, which was conspicuously flagged by Twitter:

"The Secretary of State and Governor of Georgia, both so-called 'Republicans', aren't allowing Fulton County to go through the vital Voter Signature Verification process. Also, they are not allowing Republican 'watchers' to be present and verify! @BrianKempGA"

The dramatic irony was not lost on the pro-Trump Twitter-sphere, particularly since Trump has mocked Kemp as "hapless," a "fool," a "clown," "worse than a Democrat," a "RINO," and applauded polls showing dwindling support that will leave him "finished as governor," as USA Today reported.

One Twitter user rebuked Kemp as "spineless" for going to the White House amid criticism, particularly amid the warnings of large gatherings over the holidays during the global coronavirus pandemic. Others noted the hypocrisy from all angles.
