Bookmakers are taking bets on which unnamed administration official wrote the controversial column in The New York Times blasting President Donald Trump, the New York Post is reporting.
MyBookie, a Costa Rica-based operation, listed the odds for Vice President Mike Pence at 2-to-3.
In the column, the unidentified author noted the late Sen. John McCain was a “lodestar for restoring honor to public life and out national dialogue,” the HuffPost said.
“What tipped us off was ‘lodestar,’" MyBookie head oddsmaker is quoted in the Post. “When you search members of the administration (who have used that word) only one name comes up – and that name is Mike Pence. He’s used in multiple speeches this year.”
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos was listed at 2-to-1. She was followed by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who was listed at 4-to-1. MyBookie listed 18 possible suspects, but it gave the odds as 1-to-3 that it was someone else.
Meanwhile, Canada-based Bovada listed Attorney General Jeff Sessions as the favorite at 5-to-2.
