Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on Thursday said it's "much too early" to be thinking about running for president in 2020 and bemoaned this country's obsession with "never-ending elections."
"I don't know what I'm gonna be doing, but now it's much too early," Sanders told CNN.
Sanders said, "of course it matters who runs" for president, "but we don't have to have never-ending elections; we just had an election six months ago and it never ends."
"The media never ever gives up, and instead of focusing on real issues, they keep talking about never-ending campaigns," Sanders said. "We never stop elections. People are sick and tired of it.
"They want me to go back to Washington to deal with climate change to deal with healthcare, to deal with education, to deal with issues that impact their lives. They do not wanna see never-ending elections," he said.
