Results from the survey commissioned by Florida Democratic consultant Christian Ulvert and conducted by Public Policy Polling, which also leans left:
- 48 percent of the voters said they would choose Gillum, while 43 percent would vote for DeSantis.
- 45 percent gave Gillum a favorable rating, while 41 percent said the same for DeSantis.
- 59 percent of independents said they would vote for Gillum, while 25 percent said they would vote for DeSantis.

The Hill reported on the survey results.
The poll was conducted Aug. 29-30, following Tuesday's primary that saw Gillum and DeSantis emerge victorious. They will square off in November to replace Florida Gov. Rick Scott, a Republican who is running for the Senate seat occupied by Democrat Bill Nelson.
