John Konkus, the second-in-command on Scott Pruitt's public affairs team, is departing the Environmental Protection Agency, Politico reported Friday.
Konkus is the fourth staff member to leave the EPA this week, amid investigations into Pruitt's expensive travel, security spending, and condo rental, the report said.
The aide is taking a top communications job at the Small Business Administration, two sources with knowledge of the move said, Politico reported.
In his new role, Konkus will help the Small Business Administration's Linda McMahon bring attention to local news stories, an administration official said.
"John has an amazing attitude. He's a really good person, honest and a loyal supporter of President Donald Trump," the official added.
Other EPA employees also announced their exits from the agency this week.
Pasquale Perrotta, who was Pruitt's chief of security, and Albert Kelly, who ran the EPA's Superfund program, resigned Tuesday amid scrutiny into their roles at the EPA, The New York Times reported.
Liz Bowman, the EPA's top spokeswoman, is also leaving, with her last day being May 11, Politico reported Thursday.
