Nearly one in four voters support the Republicans' proposed American Health Care Act, while 49 percent oppose it, according to a survey by Public Policy Polling.
Here are the poll highlights:
- 37 percent of Republicans favor the GOP proposal, while 22 percent are against it.
- 15 percent of Democrats support the proposed healthcare program, while 71 percent oppose it.
- 47 percent of all those polled support the current Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, while 39 percent oppose it.
- 49 percent say they prefer to keep Obamacare in place, while 29 percent favor the new Republican plan.
"There's virtually no support for the Republican healthcare plan," said Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling. "Voters have been getting warmer and warmer toward the Affordable Care Act and would much rather keep it than switch to the new proposal on the table."
