John Eastman to Newsmax TV: 'Fairly Good' Chance SCOTUS Will Hear Texas Lawsuit

(Newsmax TV/"American Agenda")

By    |   Friday, 11 December 2020 04:07 PM EST

John Eastman, the attorney representing President Donald Trump in the lawsuit over the 2020 presidential election filed by the state of Texas, told Newsmax TV on Friday that there’s ''a fairly good'' chance the U.S. Supreme Court will hear the case.

Eastman told ''American Agenda'' Friday afternoon that ''Article three of the Constitution sets a couple of things where the Supreme Court has original jurisdiction, and where they end the statute says original and exclusive jurisdiction in cases involving a state against a state.''

He added, ''Several justices have said they think that's mandatory, although a couple of others have said, 'no, we think we still have discretion whether to take it or not,' but given the number of states that have now weighed in, as well as the president of the United States, I think there's a fairly good likelihood that the Supreme Court's going to feel compelled to take this case.''
