Boehner: Congress Will Examine Boston Bombings

By    |   Tuesday, 16 April 2013 12:30 PM EDT

House Speaker John Boehner said Tuesday Congress will get to the bottom of the deadly explosions at the Boston Marathon.

“We want to know who did this and why it was done,” Boehner told reporters at a press conference. “We can describe it a lot of different ways, but it was a terrorist attack. We just don’t know enough about it, but I believe we will.”

He said the attack is a reminder of just how vulnerable the U.S. remains to acts of terrorism, and pledged that local and federal law enforcement would have the tools they need to determine how the attack occurred.

“Our law enforcement officials at a federal level and local level will have all the resources (they) need,” Boehner said.

Boehner said that flags at the Capitol will be flown at half-staff through Tuesday in remembrance of the victims.
