The White House has only itself to blame for the formation of a House select committee to investigate the facts behind Benghazi, former Navy SEAL Scott Taylor says.
"Quite frankly, it's the White House and this administration [that] is responsible for this select committee even happening because they weren't cooperating," Taylor told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"They haven't been cooperating for almost 20 months now … [The select committee] holds people accountable, gets the answers and that's what's going to happen."

Taylor — president of Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund, a social welfare organization helping former U.S. special operations forces — said Democrats should not balk about participating on the select committee.
"It will not be equal representation, elections have consequences and that's the way it is...," Taylor said.
He also urged Secretary of State John Kerry to cooperate with the select committee if called. Kerry said this week he will not appear before the House Oversight Committee, which subpoenaed him to testify about Benghazi.
"This select committee is very important and they will have the threat of subpoena and the rule of law which is what we all have to have as Americans -- Democrat [and] Republican," he said.
"They're hiding something and that's obvious."
