Filmmaker Steve Zeltzer, who heads the United Public Workers for Action, says San Francisco must stop catering to the rich and build affordable housing for the working class.
"What we'd like to see is more working class housing. What we'd like to see is the end of people being kicked out of their homes who live here in San Francisco," Zeltzer told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"They're kicking thousands of people out of their homes [for] speculators and developers who Mayor Ed Lee represents. He represents the speculators and developers and banks who are driving working people out of San Francisco.
"Why should people have to commute 100, 200 miles — some people live in Central Valley — to get to their job? We need more working class housing."
Instead, Zeltzer claims, the city is supporting the building of housing for millionaires.
"You've got be a millionaire to live in San Francisco. The working people who do the work here can't afford to live here," he said.
"That's wrong and that's basically a theft of public resources."
The United Public Workers for Action is a political organizing committee seeking to unite the 1.5 million California public workers and take "collective action to defend public education and public services."
