The U.S. media kicked off its coverage of the Winter Olympics in Sochi with a chip on its shoulder against Russia, conservative writer and columnist A.J. Delgado says.
"First it was all . . . ha-ha, let's make fun of these funny pictures that these journalists are posting of a fly inside their drink or what not," Delgado told Joe Concha, guest host of "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"Within a day it had really backfired into, you guys sound like snobby brats, and it was embarrassing as an American to see American journalists tweeting and behaving this way.
"We're there as guests, we're there to cover an event, and we're not there to criticize the host country regardless of politics or whatever issue is in mind or how you think the money was misspent, the $50 billion they supposedly had for the event."

Delgado says the behavior has given U.S. media a black eye.
"It was very poor form, and it was a stain on our international reputation as travelers and as journalists," she said.
