Peyton Manning's legacy as one of the NFL's great quarterbacks will live on despite his team's crushing loss in Sunday's Super Bowl, former ESPN Radio sportscaster Jared Max says.
"Peyton Manning does not need to win another Super Bowl to make him any more than he already is," Max told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"Sometimes [there's] a very fine line between winning and losing. Now, this was not a fine line. They got trounced. I don't think Peyton did anything to help his legacy in this game.
"But is it really fair to necessarily judge who he is as a quarterback? Stats will tell you he's not the winningest quarterback of all time, but have you ever seen a quarterback who made such an art of playing the quarterback position?"
On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks won their first Super Bowl crown, humiliating Manning and the Denver Broncos by a score of 43-8 in the National Football League's championship game.
