Stanford's Schweizer: Obamacare a 'Complete Failure of Leadership'

Tuesday, 10 December 2013 07:09 PM EST

The fact that President Barack Obama may have had no understanding of how much of a train wreck the Affordable Care Act would be reveals a "complete failure of leadership," says Peter Schweizer, a fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution.

"If he is completely non-engaged, it shows a complete failure of leadership," Schweizer, who is also president of the Government Accountability Institute, told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Story continues below video.

"The focus has been so much on this as a technological failure. It's not a technological failure. Pearl Harbor was not a military technology failure. It was a leadership failure that somehow our command did not see that attack coming. It's the same thing here," Schweizer said Tuesday.

"It's a leadership question. But, on the other hand, if he was secretly engaged and had all of these private, secretive meetings when he said that he didn't know about it, he wasn't being honest. And so, he's backed into a corner."
