Single Mom Braine-Tillem: Vision Drove Her to Aid Women in Need

By    |   Thursday, 26 December 2013 05:36 PM EST

Single mom Kimberly Braine-Tillem had a vision she should help women in need — and used it to found The Sophie House in Glen Allen, Virginia.

"I started it so that I would have that opportunity, along with partnerships with other organizations, churches, and businesses and non-profits, to be able to encourage ladies and just give them that hope," Braine-Tillem told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Story continues below video.

"It was pretty much an idea that I had been given years prior when I was traveling across the country, but I had no idea how or when that would develop," she said.

Her non-profit organization offers supportive services for single women and women with children.
