Hank Sheinkopf: Naive Obama Leaves US, Israel Vulnerable to Iran

Wednesday, 09 April 2014 06:33 PM EDT

President Barack Obama's disarmament deal with Iran cannot work, says Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf, president of Sheinkopf Communications and a Newsmax contributor.

"He's not thinking. He actually believes that if you talk nicely to people who want to kill you, they will stop," Sheinkopf told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"The problem is when a man has a gun, you use a gun. And I'm not suggesting you go to war, what I am suggesting is that you do the duty that you swore to do, which is to protect the citizens of this nation from external and internal threat. He's not done that," Sheinkopf said Wednesday.

Story continues below video.

Iran remains a major threat to the world, and concerns about the reduction of sanctions against the Middle East nation are not political, Sheinkopf said.

"This is not about partisanship, this is about the security and protection of this nation, and it is patently idiotic to believe that the Iranians will not do exactly what they say," he said.

"Hitler said exactly what he would do, and he did it. When crazy people talk in world politics, you have to listen. You have to listen carefully because they tend to do it," he said.

"Iran said it's going to destroy the state of Israel and blow it up. Do you think they're kidding? Iran said next is the 'great Satan' – that's us. Do you think they're kidding?

"They don't believe for 30 seconds that the [Secretary of State John] Kerry-Obama team has the ability to stop them.''
