Donald Trump has mastered the art of Twitter and should continue to use it — but he also must do so with caution, Andrew Card, who served as chief of staff and transportation secretary under President George W. Bush, told Newsmax TV.
"I have to admit I'm a little bit old school," Card, now president of Franklin Pierce University, told "The Steve Malzberg Show." "This is the new reality, and Donald Trump is taking us to that new reality with gusto."
"At first I was skeptical as to whether or not he should tweet after having become the president-elect, but I have to admit, he's pulled off a great public relations coup that relates to United Technologies and keeping jobs in America."

In a tweet this week, Trump broke the news he had convinced United Technologies company Carrier, which manufactures air conditioners, to keep 1,000 jobs in the United States instead of moving them to Mexico.
But, Card added, "I hope that he will not abuse his access directly to the American people. I hope that he will also recognize he sometimes is going to have to make tough decisions that will be very, very unpopular but they'll be right for America.
"And I don't want him to feel as if he has to have a presidency that requires him to please the American people. He's got to do the right thing for the American people and sometimes it may not be with their pleasure, but it'll be the right thing to be done."
