Former Republican House Majority Leader Tom DeLay on Friday heaped praise on GOP Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas for his fiery remark about FBI agent Peter Strzok's extramarital affair during an explosive hearing on Capitol Hill.
"God bless Louie Gohmert. He's such a truthful guy and you never misunderstand where he's coming from," DeLay said in an interview with Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live."
"He said what everybody on that panel, especially the Republicans, was thinking about the arrogant testimony of Peter Stzrok."

The remark in question came as Republicans pounded Strzok's anti-Trump text messages he wrote.
At one point at the joint hearing of the House Judiciary Committee and House Oversight and Government Reform Committees, Gohmert brought up Strzok's personal life, zeroing in on his relationship with then-FBI attorney Lisa Page with whom he exchanged the texts.
"I can't help but wonder, when I see you looking there with a little smirk, how many times did you look so innocent into your wife's eyes and lie to her about Lisa Page?" said Gohmert, a Texas Republican.
The dig instantly triggering howls of protest from Democrats who called it outrageous and out of line.
But DeLay said Gohmert was merely calling out a dishonest member of the anti-Trump "deep state" in Washington. Earlier, Strzok claimed "at no time, in any of those texts, did those personal beliefs ever enter into the realm of any action I took" in the FBI's probe of links between Russia and the Trump campaign.
"You saw a 'deep state' member up front and personal, lying to Congress, lying to the American people," DeLay told Newsmax hosts Miranda Khan, John Cardillo and Gina Loudon.
