By    |   Thursday, 04 September 2014 11:44 AM EDT

On Newmax TV's “America’s Forum” Thursday, Florida Congressman Ted Yoho said it was a mistake for Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to announce that a ground invasion won’t be considered in the United States’ response to ISIS.

“You should just, you know, the surprise of just showing up and doing what's right and when you start saying what you're not going to do shows kind of playing your hands before you need to and that's something we shouldn't do. We should just show up with the force that we have available and do whatever we have to,” Yoho said.

The fact that the U.S. may be considering joining with Iran to fight ISIS is evidence of the administration’s lack of a foreign policy, he said.

“We need to stand really strong with a clear, concise policy.”
