White House trade adviser Peter Navarro's disparaging remarks about Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were out of line and should merit an apology, conservative commentator Michael Reagan said.
During an appearance on "Newsmax Now," Reagan addressed Navarro's comment in which he said, "There's a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door," referencing Trudeau.
"Way over the top with Navarro. He should never have said it," Reagan said. "The thing is, these people they're dealing with now are leaders of their own countries. They're gonna do what they can to defend and protect their country, just like we're trying to do the same thing with ours."

Trudeau told reporters Saturday that Canada will react to Trump's threatened tariffs on imported Canadian goods with tariffs on certain U.S. exports starting in July.
Trump responded with a flurry of tweets Sunday night, which included calling free trade "fool trade if it is not reciprocal."
"I think Navarro should apologize to Trudeau for what he said because it was absolutely uncalled for," Reagan said. "Everything was fine. You can argue tariffs."
