Author Michael Malice on Wednesday lashed out at President Donald Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, for his "disgusting" characterization of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as begging for a rescheduled summit.
In remarks on Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Now," Malice, author of "Dear Reader: The Unauthorized Autobiography of Kim Jong Il," said the former New York mayor's remark was "counterproductive."
Giuliani, at a business conference in Tel Aviv, Israel, credited President Donald Trump's decision to cancel a summit as the impetus that brought Kim to "his hands and knees" to beg to reschedule the sit-down.
"His comments are disgusting in the context of the summit," Malice said. "Humiliating [Kim] serves no purpose. Very counterproductive."
"Giuliani should stick to his beat" as a legal adviser to the president, Malice said.
Malice said he hoped the focus of the June 12 summit would remain "on the plight of the North Koreans" who suffering at the hands of leaders of "the most evil country on earth."
