President Donald Trump gave Secretary of State Rex Tillerson the ax because he wants the United States speaking with "a singular voice" in its foreign policy, Marc Lotter, a national spokesperson for the commander in chief, told Newsmax TV on Tuesday.
"He's moving forward," Lotter told Miranda Khan on Tuesday's "America Talks Live." "We're at a very historic time.
"We need to make sure our country is talking with one singular voice and that's the voice of the president. As the president mentioned this morning he and Secretary Tillerson had areas where they disagreed on.
"We need to make sure that as we're dealing with these talks with North Korea, with the Iran deal and the destabilizing activities in Russia, we're speaking with one voice and that's the voice Donald J. Trump."

Lotter said Trump's choice to replace Tillerson – CIA director Mike Pompeo – is an excellent choice because "he and the president have a great chemistry . . ."
"When you are going out representing the United States on the world stage, we reference one voice, one thought process that’s the president."
Khan also asked about the Democrats pooh-poohing the GOP-controlled House Intelligence Committee's conclusion there was no collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign to influence the 2016 presidential race.
"The Democrats wouldn't know the truth if it came up and introduced [itself] to them . . . The Democrats are only interested in maintaining a talking point," he said.
"They want to keep the investigation open hoping their giant finishing expedition will somehow turn up something they can use and disparage our president."
