Michael J. Cooper, an Israeli-educated physician and author of "Foxes in the Vineyard," said peace in the Middle East is a "necessity" for Israel.
"Having lived there for many years and having family there and going back at least twice a year and being among Israelis and being among Palestinians, I have a very different narrative," Cooper told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"Now, when I first went to Israel, I had a completely Israel/Zionist narrative. I grew up in Northern California in Zionist youth groups. I had a very clear idea of what our narrative was as a people, the Jewish people.
"I didn't know what their narrative was … I came to understand that they also had a significant connection to the land."
