President Barack Obama has been criticized for sending Attorney General Eric Holder to Ferguson, Missouri in the wake of the shooting of Michael Brown instead of going himself, but Democratic strategist Ben Wikler says that Obama's presence would be too polarizing.
"The question of whether President Obama should go is a question of what effect that would have," Wikler told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on
Newsmax TV Thursday.

"President Obama knows very well at this point in his presidency that he is a polarizing figure," he explained. "People react politically to anything that he does."
"His supporters might cheer some of his actions, his opponents denounce his actions and if he steps into this situation, it's going to polarize people left and right in a crisis that actually should be trans-partisan," he added.
"It should be something that people, left and right, that all of us come together around," Wikler said.
"It's changing the way that our police work in this country — that everyone is protected and served by our uniformed law enforcement officers."
