The father of a Pennsylvania schoolgirl says he was labeled a possible "neo-Nazi" by a teachers' union official after complaining about a homework assignment.
Josh Barry, who is Jewish, told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV that he felt a New York Times article used in his daughter's class in the East Pennsboro Area School District was too critical of Republicans.

He said a voicemail he obtained revealed the union official asking a friend of his whether she thinks Barry could be a "neo-Nazi," — “or maybe he is Jewish, I don’t know."
"I was always taught to be a critical thinker … so I did look at the article pretty critically and reading through it you can see that just a point to counterpoint quote ratio it was like 9 to 2 against the Republicans," Barry said.
"I emailed the school board and I emailed the teacher expressing my concerns and I got back from the teacher a non-answer."
He said then contacted the school principal who insisted the article was not biased. Then his friend forwarded him the voicemail.
"I was just dumbfounded at – number one, you insert yourself in a situation that you have no business being in, number two, you break a confidentiality agreement because they're not to disclose anything regarding any complaints to any non-district employees," Barry said.
He planned to address the issue at a school board meeting on Thursday night.

"My main focus is bringing balance back in the classroom … I started a Facebook page called Balance in the Classroom … That's all I want," Barry said.
