Dick Morris to Newsmax TV: GOP Must Adapt to Dem Voter Rule Changes

By    |   Wednesday, 06 January 2021 08:35 PM EST

Former Democratic strategist and White House adviser Dick Morris told Newsmax TV on Wednesday that the Democratic Party unilaterally has changed the rules on voting and Republicans will have to adopt the same strategies to win.

“We have to recognize the Democrats have changed the rules,” Morris said on “The Chris Salcedo Show.” “GOTV, get out the vote, is a staple of our politics, people go to school to learn how to do it. That’s changed. Now it’s not a question of getting out the vote, it’s a question of bringing the vote to the voters.

“Don’t get them out, bring the polls to them. And by absentee ballots, mail-in voting, by ballot harvesting, if you will, the Republicans need to start doing that, too.”

With courts, particularly the U.S. Supreme Court, unwilling to review changes to election laws implemented by state executive branch officials with regard to absentee or mail-in ballots, Morris made it seem like it was go along or get left behind.

“I think we have to be determined to win it back in 2022,” Morris said. “And I think we can, and I think we will. I believe we have to change fundamentally the strategy of the Republican Party.”
